Maria Helena lived in the city of art. She painted the poetry of the streets, the mist, the spaces, and the memory. Things that only she could see. She drew countless lines, following them like the paths of a labyrinth. And her art reached the whole world. (In fact, even other planets!)
Maria Helena Vieira da Silva (1908–1992) was a Portuguese/French painter and one of the most significant figures in the international art scene of the second half of the 20th century. Vieira da Silva Unravels a Mystery is a children’s biography that offers a glimpse into Vieira da Silva’s life, work, and imagination.
